Loving God... Loving Others... Serving The World For The Glory Of God

Welcome to New Prospect Baptist Church!

Thank you for visiting our web page! We would like to invite you to also visit us on Sunday mornings!! We have Sunday School at 9:15 am, Sunday Morning Worship Service at 10:30 am, Sunday Evening Worship Service at 6:00 pm.  We also have Wednesday night Bible Study at 7:00 pm!  Come check us out!

"Thought..."

It is easy to say we believe in God as long as we remain in the little world we choose to live in; but get out into the great world of facts, the noisy world where people are absolutely indifferent to you, where your message is nothing more than a crazy tale belonging to a bygone age, can you believe God there?

Oswald Chambers

"Verse..."

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.  Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.

Ephesians 6:10-11
The English Standard Version

"Smile..."

As you're rushing through life, take time to stop a moment, look into people's eyes, say something kind, and try to make them laugh!

SCHEDULE CHANGES FOR THE SUMMER

Please note the following changes for the summer months:

NO Children’s Church for the summer, beginning in May.

NO “GROW” visitation for the summer, beginning in May. We will have visitation time each week. Let me encourage you to visit with someone from your SS class during the summer months. You don’t have to come to the church on Tuesday evening in order to do so.

AWANA: This ministry will conclude for the summer on Wednesday, May 15. It will resume in August.

MEN’S BREAKFAST/CHOIR

Our men’s breakfast will be this coming Saturday morning at 8am. There will also be a brief choir rehearsal for our men, who will be singing for the morning worship service on Sunday. I hope we have a great group of men attending both the breakfast and the rehearsal.

GRADUATE RECOGNITION SUNDAY

This Sunday we will be honoring our graduates. They will be recognized in the morning worship service. On Sunday night we will view a slide show as part of our evening worship. This will be followed by a “finger food” desert fellowship in the new fellowship hall in their honor. I hope you plan to attend. Please bring enough finger food deserts for your family and one additional family. “Congratulations to all of our graduates. We’re proud of you and will be praying for you as you move on to the next phase of your life. We’ll be praying that you will stay God-centered in whatever God leads you to do. God bless you! We love ya’ll!”

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES AT NEW PROSPECT

We are still in need of some folks in these areas. Please prayerfully consider whether God is calling you to such an opportunity:

Bed Babies: We need 1 additional worker

1-2 year olds: We need 2 workers for this class

3-4 year olds: We need 1 additional worker.

Ask God if He is leading you to be used to minister to these little ones. Please contact Joey Simpson if you feel led. Please also ask God to raise up the needed individuals for these ministry opportunities.

PARKING REMINDERS

While I shared this information last week, I want to again do so. Please read and assist us as you can. Unless you are a senior adult or physically disabled, please consider parking on the hill between the two buildings or on the back lot behind our new fellowship hall. This will provide extra places for those who attend.

Sunday School Teachers

If you plan to be out and cannot teach on Sunday mornings, please let Joey Simpson know as soon as possible so we can plan ahead, or let him know of your sub for that day.

 LEADERSHIP NEEDS

We will be voting on our Sunday School leadership at the close of evening worship Sunday night. That having been said, we till have some needs in our Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Please look at the list below and ask God to show you if this is where He would have you to serve:

1. Sunday School (Joey Simpson): Worker for 1-2 year olds, Kindergarten Teacher, worker to assist in 3rd/4th grade, worker to assist in 5th grade, 6th grade boys teacher, 10th grade girls teacher.

2. Vacation Bible School (June Stairs): Kindergarten Teacher, 5th Grade teacher, Preschool Missions Teacher, Children’s Crafts, Preschool/Children’s Music teacher, additional helpers.

Please pray that these needs will be met.

Minuteman Ministry

Please check the bulletin each Sunday to see if you are assigned for that day. If so, go to the church office immediately following morning worship. There you will find information for first-time guests and a ‘gift bag” to take to them.

If you have read this and are interested in serving in any of these three areas, please let Joey Simpson (Sunday School), Deborah Rhea (Childcare) or me (Minuteman) know.

"A Message From Our Pastor"

THANK YOU AWANA LEADERS

Another year of AWANA closes with the Awards Ceremony Wednesday night. I want to thank Scott Crestman, our AWANA Commander, and his leaders for a wonderful year and for their labor of love each week. This ministry is a wonderful way to teach God’s Word. It is also a ministry with great responsibility. Our leaders take their work seriously and do a great job in teaching the children Bible verses. Let’s pray for these children, that God will give them the ability to keep His Word in the hearts and practice His Word in their lives. We’ll begin AWANA in August. “Scott and leaders, thank you so much for the great work that you do in this ministry. We love and appreciate each of you. God bless you!”

Please pray for Pastor Scott as he preaches this coming Lord’s Day. Ask God to speak to him and through  him in a special way.  Many made comments about the message Sunday morning, “Rejoicing in Our Circumstances.” You are probably aware of this, but all of the messages are recorded and are available on cd’s free of charge. Just see someone in the sound booth to order or get a copy of the cd. We’ll do our best to provide it for the you.

God bless you folks. I love ya’ll.
