CHURCH NEWS

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL NEWS

Another week of Vacation Bible School is in the books. We are now in the process of following up with unchurched families whose children attended.

Exciting things that happened this week:

1. Average attendance (including workers): 200

2. Olive Branch Food Pantry Donation Items: 510

3. Offering going to Redemption Baptist Church in Brazil: $1400.00

(The new building required 4500 bricks at $0.30 each. We raised enough to purchase 4800 bricks. Praise the LORD!)

4. No recorded commitments to Christ, but the gospel was shared in each class.

5. Great spirit and attitudes from children and workers.

6. We were able to pass along all of our material and decorations to a sister church, which will then be passed along to assist another church.

A big "Thank You" to the VBS Team and all the workers for the week. Our leaders ranged from our youth to the most senior among us.

VBS Follow Up:

-Monday and Tuesday, July 21-22 (10am and 6pm)

-Monday and Tuesday, July 28-29 (10am and 6pm)

We would love for anyone to participate in this exciting chance for ministering.

VBS Missionaries
James & Christen Taylor
Daniel (12), Hannah (10), & Jeremiah (7)
Serving in São José, a suburb of Florianópolis, Brazil
They are church planters and they have been working in this city for 3 years to plant Redemption Baptist Church.
They recently bought a piece of land and our offering is helping to purchase bricks for their building.

FINANCES

While God is blessing us financially, please remember that while members may take vacations during the summer, our expenses do not. Please continue to give either before you leave or making it up when you return. Expenses are usually a little more during the summer due to an increased use of facilities, our church vehicles, materials, supplies, etc. Thanks for your faithfulness in doing so.

DeNise Love
DeNise Love will be sharing about her work in Ecuador on Sunday evening, July 27 at 6:00PM. We will be having a dessert fellowship at that time. We are looking forward to hearing about her experience, as well as the opportunity to pray for any needs.
God has blessed us with many folks serving Him here at New Prospect Baptist Church. That having been said, there are some opportunities that God is laying at our feet. I know that He has already planted the ones necessary to fill these opportunities in our fellowship. Below is a list of areas needing service. Please let Bro. Bob, any member of the Nominating Team, or Joey Simpson (SS Director) know if God is leading you to help.

1. Members of the following teams: Activites; Building and Grounds
2. Teachers for the following Sunday School classes: College Class, Single's Class
3. AWANA helpers and "listeners" (listen to the children's bible verse at the beginning of each session)
4. Bro. Bob will also be sharing next week about a "restart" of GROW participants and Minutemen participants as we move towards Fall.
